Dumaguete-based visual artist Alta Jia currently explores on the subjects of nature i.e. wild grasses and insects, lines, portraits and random things, rendered using pen and ink; sometimes experimenting with acrylic, oil, watercolor and other color – rendering mediums like tea stains. Have been doing print making and other commissioned projects.
“I consider Visual Art as my language since I sometimes find it difficult to utter words in communicating my thoughts. The lines I draw serve as my Sanskrit, filling out empty spaces as if putting together imprints of my soul.”
