Toots Magsino is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Manila, Philippines, with a thirty-year practice spanning painting, printmaking, and collage. Trained at The Art Students League of New York, she completed a double 4-year program in painting and printmaking, grounding her work in both technique and intuition.
With ten solo exhibitions in the Philippines and abroad, her 2011 show Between Episodes stood out as a deeply personal exploration of mental health and everyday life. It marked a quiet but meaningful shift in her artistic direction. Magsino stepped back from the gallery circuit to focus on teaching and creative mentorship. Since then, she has continued to lead collage workshops for cancer patients, survivors, and a broader community, offering art as a space for healing, expression, and connection.
This July 2025, Mugna Gallery proudly presents It’s About Time, a culmination of Magsino’s creative journey. Featuring new collages, installations, and select earlier works, the exhibition reflects a life shaped by introspection, artistic devotion, and lived experiences. It offers a compelling portrait of an artist who has remained true to her path—trusting in the slow, transformative nature of time.
“There will come a time when my art will outlive me,” she says.
“But not just yet—because the best, in both art and life, is yet to come.”
