Last June 8, 2024, Mugna Gallery launched a new chapter in the gallery’s history by holding not just two, but three exhibits!
As Mugna’s anniversary offering, the exhibitions featured artists from New York, Manila and Argentina — marking a global perspective in the gallery programming.
Ged Merino (New York, Bogota, Manila) presented “Everything is Moving Around Me” — highlighting his thread-based practice alongside craftswomen from Bogota, Colombia.
Aze Ong (Manila) recontextualized two site-adaptive crochet installations that evoke her energy and spirituality vis-a-vis her first trip to Dumaguete in “Detached.”
The gallery also hosted a special pop-up exhibition “Invaders” featuring works by Argentinian artists Joa Goldstein and Pedro Cuevas which ran from June 8 to 9, 2024.
Entering a new era of art in its third year, Mugna will be showing both local and global artists moving forward, keeping in tune with its goal of enriching Dumaguete’s art scene and history.
