About

Days past seem so near yet so far, most of the time we immediately forget what’s just happened. Thankfully some people took time to record their lives and unintentionally provided us with a time capsule of sorts. In his first solo exhibition, visual artist Jude Millares invites us to take a peek at pages from his journal, and take a stroll through his thoughts from the past years.

Meet Jude Millares, a talented visual artist hailing from Dumaguete City. For the past decade, he has devoted himself to perfecting intricate techniques in painting. During his college years, while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Millares discovered his artistic identity by delving into abstract and psychic automatism.

Over the years, Millares’ style and artistic process have undergone a transformation. He has gone from creating pieces that he admits had no real meaning to producing works that tell compelling stories about his personal experiences and visions. His latest solo exhibit, titled “Journals,” showcases this evolution.

The exhibit features a range of captivating paintings that offer glimpses into the artist’s inner world. From colorful abstract compositions to figurative works imbued with emotion, each piece tells a unique story. By exploring his own life and personal journey, Millares invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences and connect with his art on a deeper level.
