About

MUGNA Gallery is pleased to present the works of eight artists who painted the murals on the gallery’s exterior walls and a video by the filmmaker who documented their process. The mural project brought these artists together for the first time for a collaboration that gave rise to friendships and the opportunity to further develop their own practices. As individuals, each artist expresses his or her own unique vision in understanding the human response to personal and social challenges and the human spirit’s ability to transcend and prevail.

The show encapsulates the multiple meanings of manifestation: through their work, the artists attempt to make certain ideas evident to the eye or the understanding, while at the same time projecting aspirational thoughts in the hope of bringing tangible change to everyone’s lives, their own and that of their audience. Life coach and healer Lara Waldman states “Manifestation is, at its root, a practice that helps you consciously access your innate ability to create your life… not coach Sarah Prout adds: “We should allow adequate space for our negative emotions. It’s about showing yourself compassion when you are feeling powerless, uncertain, or anxious. Live your life with more intention, while at the same time developing a strong mindset of openness and intuition.” Lastly, manifestation coach Barbara Jedlovaska believes that it goes much deeper than positive thinking: “It equals truly embodying and internalizing your thoughts and emotions that will turn into deep beliefs and therefore show up in your physical world.”
