About

Each and everyone of us has a fixation with something. It’s either something positive that leads to good things, or the opposite that ends up down a misleading path. Sometimes that direction is towards a point of no return. Either way, that fixation allows us to overcome daily struggles and gives meaning to our lives.

PANATA expresses a Visayan definition of the act of pouring one’s complete, wholehearted devotion towards something or someone. Whether by the simple act of preparing food like a school lunch or a family dinner for a loved one, to the complex processes of conceptualizing, planning, and executing artwork — be it a painting or an assemblage for oneself, PANATA isn’t limited to religious connotations. It can also encompass simple moments of everyday life. From care for wildlife and the environment to self love and introspection, from experiments with material to expressions of escape from reality, it is the mundane that adds up to magnificence.

Showcasing works by Visayan artists from a wide spectrum of techniques and skillsets — from pop surreal dreamscapes, original characters, signature color palettes, to intricate woodwork relief — each artist has meticulously expressed their advocacies through their surface of choice. Through their PANATA made flesh, we receive tangible and tactile forms to relish, a devotion that will last forever.
